Jasmine is a third year student and is currently fulfilling her student placement at Hāpai Te Hauora. She is studying towards attaining a Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Auckland. Jasmine has a strong interest in Māori health advocacy, and is eager to get involved in addressing common public health issues for Māori, including addictions and youth suicide, at both a community and policy level. Jasmine’s main study interests involve examining health through a broad social science lens, learning how policy can be shaped to facilitate social change, and exploring how the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi can be applied in formulating effective health initiatives.
